This privacy policy describes how Tipple ("we", "us", or "the app") handles your information when you use the Tipple mobile application (the "App").

Information You Provide

• Favorites: When you save a cocktail to your favorites, this data is stored locally on your device using device storage. This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you create an account and explicitly sync your favorites.
• Account Information: If you create an account (coming in a future update), we collect your email address and a display name. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: The App does not currently collect analytics, tracking, or usage data.
• Device Information: The App does not collect device identifiers, location data, or sensor data.

Data from Third-Party Services

• TheCocktailDB API: The App fetches cocktail recipe data from TheCocktailDB (www.thecocktaildb.com). Recipe searches and lookups are sent to their API. See their privacy policy for details.
• No Advertising SDKs: The App does not include any advertising or analytics SDKs.

How We Use Your Information

• To display cocktail recipes and search results.
• To save and display your favorite cocktails.
• To provide account-based features when available (favorites sync, comments, ratings).
• To improve the App's features and user experience.

How We Store Your Data

Local Storage

Your favorites are stored locally on your device. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted unless you sync with an account.

Server Storage

If you create an account, your data is stored on our servers hosted in the European Union. Account data, synced favorites, comments, and ratings are stored in a database protected by authentication.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties except:

• To comply with legal obligations.
• To protect our rights or safety.
• Aggregate, anonymized data may be used for improvement purposes.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and authenticated access to server-side data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Cocktail Recipe Data Attribution

Cocktail recipe data is provided by TheCocktailDB. Recipe content, images, and ingredient data are sourced from their API.
